(국영문 동시배포) 「세계유산 고창 고인돌의 가치 재조명과 향후 과제」 국제학술대회 개최

국가유산청 국립문화유산연구원 국립완주문화유산연구소(소장 이규훈)는 고창군(군수 심덕섭)과 함께 10월 16일 오전 10시 고창 웰파크호텔 컨벤션센터(전북 고창군)에서 「세계유산 고창 고인돌의 가치 재조명과 향후 과제」를 주제로 국제학술대회를 개최한다. 수백 기 이상의 고인돌이 분포하고 있는 「고창 고인돌 유적」은 고인돌의 개수뿐만 아니라, 탁자식, 기반식, 개석식 등 형식의 다양성과 밀집도 면에서도 세계적으로 압도적인 수준이다. 이러한 가치를 인정받아 화순, 강화 고인돌 유적과 함께 2000년 유네스코 세계유산으로 등재되었고, 등재 이후에도 유적에 대한 지속적인 조사·연구와 안정적인 보존관리가 이루어지고 있다. * 탁자식(卓子式): 지상에 판석으로 무덤방을 만든 후 그 위로 뚜껑돌을 덮은 형식 * 기반식(碁盤式): 무덤방을 만든 후 주위에 받침돌을 놓고 그 위로 뚜껑돌을 덮은 형식 * 개석식(蓋石式): 지하에 무덤방을 만든 후 받침돌 없이 바로 위에 뚜껑돌을 덮은 형식 이번 학술대회는 세계유산인 「고창 고인돌 유적」의 가치를 재조명하고, 나아가 국외 거석기념물의 최신 연구 성과와 보존관리 사례를 함께 비교· 논의하여 국제적 거석기념물로서 「고창 고인돌 유적」의 위상을 더욱 높이기 위한 청사진을 그려보고자 마련되었다. 학술대회는 기조강연을 비롯하여 7개의 발표와 전문가들의 종합토론으로 구성된다. 기조강연인 ▲ ‘고창 고인돌 유적의 세계유산적 의의와 가치'(이영문, 동북아지석묘연구소)를 시작으로 ▲ ‘세계유산 고창 고인돌 유적의 조사연구 성과와 향후 과제'(정다운·박인영, 국립완주문화유산연구소), ▲ ‘세계유산 고창 고인돌 유적의 보존관리 현황과 향후 활용방안'(장충희, 전북연구원 전북학연구센터), ▲ ‘영국 스톤헨지의 최신 조사연구 성과 및 보존관리 현황'(헤더 스비어, 잉글리쉬 헤리티지), ▲ ‘인도 우산돌의 최신 조사연구 성과 및 보존관리 현황'(아룬 말릭, 인도 문화부 고고학연구소), ▲ ‘인도네시아 사부섬 고인돌의 최신 조사연구 성과 및 보존관리 현황'(랑가 아디탸 다츨란, 인도네시아 가자마다대학교), ▲ ‘일본 오유환상열석 거석기념물의 최신 조사연구 성과 및 보존관리 현황'(사이먼 케이너, 영국 세인즈버리 일본문화예술연구소)까지 6개의 주제발표를 통해 「고창 고인돌 유적」과 여러 해외 거석기념물에 대한 연구사례를 비교·분석해보는 시간을 갖는다. 주제발표 이후에는 이영문 동북아지석묘연구소장을 좌장으로, 조진선(전남대학교), 김규정(전북문화유산연구원), 고일홍(서울대학교 아시아연구소), 윤호필(상주박물관), 윤덕향(전(前) 전북대학교), 최완규(전(前) 원광대학교) 등 거석기념물 전문가들과 발표자들이 모여 논의하는 종합토론이 진행될 예정이다. 이번 학술대회는 홍보물(포스터) 내 정보 무늬(QR코드)를 촬영해 사전접수하거나, 당일 현장 등록을 통해 누구나 참석할 수 있으며, 자세한 내용은 전화(☎063-290-9324)로 문의하면 된다. 국립문화유산연구원 국립완주문화유산연구소는 이번 국제학술대회를 계기로 국내외 거석기념물 전문가들과의 지속적인 학술교류의 장을 마련하고자 하며, 나아가 체계적인 학술조사연구를 통해 세계적인 거석기념물 유적로서 「고창 고인돌 유적」의 위상을 더욱 높일 예정이다. The Wanju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (under the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Korea Heritage Service, Director: Lee Kyu-hoon), together with Gochang-gun County (Governor: Sim Deok-seop), will host an International Conference on October 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gochang Wellpark Hotel Convention Center. The conference will focus on the theme: “Re-examining the Value of the Gochang Dolmen World Heritage Site and Future Directions.” The Gochang Dolmen Site is home to hundreds of dolmens, internationally renowned for their diversity and density, including table-type, go-board-type, and capstone-type forms. Recognizing its outstanding value, the site was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, together with the Hwasun and Ganghwa Dolmen Sites. Since its inscription, ongoing surveys and research have supported systematic conservation and management of the site. * Table-type dolmen(卓子式): a chamber built above ground with flagstones and covered with a capstone * Go-board-type dolmen(碁盤式): a chamber built with supporting stones placed around it and covered with a capstone * Capstone-type dolmen(蓋石式): a chamber built underground and covered directly with a capstone without supporting stones This conference aims to re-examine the value of the Gochang Dolmen Site as a World Heritage property and to compare it with the latest research findings and conservation practices of megalithic monuments worldwide. Through these discussions, the conference seeks to outline a blueprint to further enhance the site’s status as an internationally recognized megalithic monument. The conference program includes a keynote lecture, seven presentations, and a comprehensive discussion. The keynote lecture, ▲ ‘The Value of the World Heritage and Significance of Gochang Dolmen Site(Lee Young-moon, Research Centre of Dolmens in Northeast Asia)’ will be delivered. The following six thematic presentations will cover: ▲ ‘Research Results and Future Tasks of the World Heritage Gochang Dolmen Site(Jeong Da-un•Park In-young, Wanju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage)’, ▲ ‘Current Status of preservation and management of the World Heritage Gochang Dolmen Site and Future Utilization Plans(Jang Choong-hee, Jeonbuk Institute)’, ▲ ‘Latest Research results and Conservation management status of Stonehenge in the U.K.(Heather Sebire, English Heritage)’, ▲ ‘Latest Research results and Conservation management status of India Umbrella Stones(Arun Malik, Archaeological Survey of India)’, ▲ ‘Latest Research results and Conservation management status of the dolmens of Savu Island, Indonesia(Rangga Aditya Dachlan, Universitas Gadjah Mada)’, ▲ ‘Latest Research results and Conservation management status of status of the Oyu-Stone Circles megalithic monument in Japan(Simon Kaner, Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures)’. After the presentations, a comprehensive discussion will be chaired by Lee Young-moon, director of the Research Centre of Dolmens in Northeast Asia, joined by experts in megalithic monuments including Cho Jin-son (Jeonnam National University), Kim Kyu-jeong (Jeonbuk Cultural Property Research Institute), Ko Il-hong (Seoul National University Asia Research Institute), Yoon Ho-pil (Sangju Museum), Yoon Deok-hyang (Former Jeonbuk National University), and Choi Wan-kyu (Former Wonkwang University), and the presenters.
